Universal Epic Universe started out as a doodle on a piece of napkin. 

“Here’s a layout of how this could work,” said Mark Woodbury back in 2016. At the time, Universal’s current CEO was president of Universal Creative and had just tasked his team with setting up a brainstorm session with one topic on the agenda: “What would we create if we had the opportunity to build another domestic park?” 

As it turns out, a whole new universe.

Cut to nearly a decade later and here I am sharing with you the first exclusive deep dive into the highly anticipated details around Universal Epic Universe, the most immersive and innovative park ever built, opening in 2025.

Let’s dive into the essence of it. The Universal Epic Universe stands tall as the fourth jewel in the crown of Universal Orlando Resort, sprawling across 750 acres of land, just a stone’s throw away from its sibling attractions: Universal Studios Florida, Universal Islands of Adventure, and Universal Volcano Bay. This newest addition promises to whisk visitors away to expansive realms brimming with breathtaking attractions, captivating entertainment, luxurious hotels, delectable dining, and much more.

How do you embark on this epic journey? Bid farewell to the routine of parking at the main garage and strolling through Universal CityWalk. Drawing inspiration from the allure of uncharted territories, the theme park introduces a paradigm shift in experiential entertainment, inviting guests to traverse five meticulously crafted worlds. “From the moment guests step through the gates, they embark on immersive journeys resonating with captivating narratives,” remarks Steve Tatham, Executive Creative Director for Universal Epic Universe, who relocated from Osaka, Japan, to spearhead this endeavor. “Universal revolutionized theme park entertainment, and now we’re raising the bar, defining the essence of a contemporary theme park,” he emphasizes.

Contemplating the journey of bringing this vision to life, Gabriela reflects on the profound satisfaction of witnessing years of clandestine effort culminate in tangible progress. “Seeing this remarkable park evolve from conception to design, and now to a bustling construction site, where each day brings forth new developments, is truly gratifying,” she shares. Your journey commences as you step through the illustrious Emerald Gate, guided by the awe-inspiring Chronos device stationed at Epic’s entrance. Adam Rivest, the seasoned executive producer for Celestial Park, sheds light on Chronos’ pivotal role: a colossal apparatus channeling the boundless energies of the cosmos to animate Celestial Park and unfurl the gateways to other realms.

Within Celestial Park, an epicenter of wonder awaits exploration, flanked by four towering portals, resembling ancient obelisks. These gateways beckon adventurers into realms of unparalleled immersion and adventure, each meticulously crafted to captivate the imagination. And they are none other than:

This beautiful carousel has a wonderful spin to it — quite literally. It may seem like a traditional carousel, with an array of celestial creatures to choose from, but as it goes round and round, the creatures are also turning 360 degrees, making you feel like you’re caught within the Milky Way, riding on constellations through the galaxy. 

Starfall Racers

“Picture yourself soaring through the celestial expanse on Starfall Racers,” Adam enthuses. “It’s not just a coaster; it’s an exhilarating journey aboard the essence of a comet.” This racing dual-launch coaster, boasting speeds of up to 62 mph and ascending to a staggering height of 133 feet, delivers an electrifying experience unlike any other. “Despite its imposing stature, Starfall Racers offers the nostalgia of a classic wooden coaster, yet with the seamless grace of modern engineering,” Adam explains. “Feel yourself lift from your seat, embracing the weightless sensation of zero gravity.”

“As you hurtle along the 1.8-mile track, engaged in a thrilling side-by-side race against another comet, every twist and turn promises heart-pounding excitement,” he continues, noting the absence of break zones throughout the ride.

But the magic truly unfolds after nightfall. Bathed in the glow of hundreds of luminous points, the coaster transforms into a mesmerizing spectacle, resembling shooting comets streaking across the heavens. “It’s a breathtaking sight, an attraction in its own right,” Adam remarks with a grin.
